  • Is native in both English and Portuguese, and fluent in Spanish.
     

  • Has varied experience, including a two week field trip with Prof. Roberto Barrios, Chair for Latin American Studies at University of New Orleans, and can provide strong references.

  • Is a trained Wilderness First Aider
     

  • Has professional research experience (5 years as a Physicist) so understands research needs and confidently navigates technical language.
     

  • Discusses preparations and takes reading material to fully engage with your work.
     

  • Understands an interpreter's role as a facilitator and not the main character.
     

  • Is socially conscious, so can discuss lower rates for organizations on a tight budget and a strong social mission.
     

  • Is based in São Paulo and available to travel.
